This year, FEIG ELECTRONIC once again presented itself as the main sponsor and regional employer at the company run in Giessen. With a total of over 2500 runners and walkers, the sporting event was a complete success.
On May 15th 2024, the participants started in beautiful weather and completed the 4 to 5 kilometer long walking or running route through the campus of Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) University of Applied Sciences and around the Schwanenteich. As in the previous year, FEIG was represented at the Giessen company run as the eponymous main sponsor with a large start-finish arch, its own stand and a hot air balloon. The FEIG team started with a new participant record of over 40 runners and walkers.
Magdalena Müller was the fastest female runner of the FEIG team and achieved a fantastic 6th place in the overall standings and won her age group. As the fastest male runner of the FEIG team, Rachid Zarioh was able to score with a time of just under 20 minutes. Out of over 150 teams registered for the company run, the fastest 5 FEIG runners also made it to an excellent 5th place in the team ranking.
A special novelty was the team of over 50 THM students, sponsored by FEIG for the first time this year under the name “Students@Firmenlauf”. They were equipped with start numbers and their own running shirts. After the run, a ride in a hot air balloon was also raffled off among the participants of the student team. The team was able to secure a fantastic place among the 3 fastest teams of the run. Tom Harder was the second runner to cross the finish line only 10 seconds behind the overall winner and thus secured 2nd place in the overall standings and in his age group. As the fastest female runner in the THM team and with 8th place in the overall standings, Barbara Furkert crossed the finish line with just under 21:12 minutes.
After reaching the finish arch, all FEIG participants were able to look forward to great give-aways in a stylish finisher gym bag with FEIG branding. The evening ended comfortably while eating, drinking and listening to the award ceremony.
The event was a perfect opportunity for FEIG to support the organizing association Startschuss für’s Leben e.V. and thus support child and youth work in the Giessen region and at the same time present itself as a regional employer. FEIG will also appear as the eponymous main sponsor at the 12th Giessen FEIG Company Run, which is expected to take place on 14.05.2025.
